Andy Hunt — Founder

As a student in high school, Andy was a bit of a test nerd. He prepped himself for the SAT and brought his score up by 580 points, starting at an 1800 and finishing at a 2380. Along with some good grades and other good test scores, Andy was accepted to 12 of the 13 schools he applied to, including Dartmouth, Brown, Duke, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, and others.

Josh Marcotte — Coordinator

Josh is a senior at Brown University concentrating in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies. He scored a 2140 on the SAT (12 on his essay) and earned the following SATII scores: 760 on Literature, 800 on Math Level I, and 690 on Spanish.

Owen Dunn

Owen graduated from Brown in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. He scored a 33 on the ACT and first began tutoring chemistry and biology at Brown. With undergrad checked off, Owen now spends his time teaching, rock climbing, and cooking. What’s next? He’s still crossing his fingers for that billion-dollar idea, but otherwise it’s law school or grad school on the horizon.

Hamna Mela

Hamna graduated from New York University in January 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Environmental Studies and Metropolitan Studies. She scored a 2260 on the SAT. During her time at NYU, she worked as a tutor at the College Learning Center, helping college students with Writing, Math, Biology and Environmental Science courses.

Tim Keefe

Tim Keefe is a senior at Brown concentrating in Neuroscience. In high school, he received a 2200 (740 Math, 760 Verbal, 700 Writing). He also received the following SATII scores: 750 Math Level 1, 720 in Math Level 2, and 720 Biology. Plus, he earned 5’s on the AP exams for Chemistry, World History, BC Calculus, and English Language.

Lauren Urban

Lauren Urban is currently a junior at Brown University, double concentrating in Human Biology and Neuroscience. After Brown she wants to go to graduate school to study bionanotechnolgy. In high school, Lauren got a 32 on the ACT and a 2270 on the SAT. Also, she got 5’s on AP Statistics, English, Biology and Psychology.

Ryan Reeves

Ryan graduated with Highest Honors from Marlboro College with a B.A. in Writing and Contemporary American Literature. He scored a 1440 on the old school SAT (760 verbal, 680 math), earned a 5 on the AP Spanish, and Environmental Science exams and has tutored Writing Skills, Physics and Spanish.

When not working on his collection of short stories, he can be found trying to escape the confines of his office, canoeing local rivers or soaking up rays on the Massachusetts beaches where he grew up. Jessica Gandy

Jessica Gandy was born in Warwick, RI on October 13, 1990. She attended LaSalle Academy where she graduated with honors and was a four-year varsity letter winner in three sports. She is currently a junior at Brown University concentrating in Neuroscience.

In her free time, Jessica plays on the women’s varsity volleyball team as defensive specialist and acts as a peer advisor for her freshman and sophomore teammates. She is also a registered EMT-cardiac in the state of Rhode Island and works on the Brown ambulance.

FG Ferland

Francesgrace Ferland is currently a Junior at Providence College with a double major in English Literature and History. She passed her first semester of college at Mount Holyoke College, before coming home to Little Rhody. She attended the Lincoln School in Providence for eight years, graduating with honors. She has spent the last ten years volunteering at various non-profits in the Providence/Pawtucket and Wakefield areas.
When not in class or doing classwork, FG loves reading basically anything, writing fiction, hiking, snowboarding, and a whole lot of other random things, including National Novel Writing Month (the completion of 50,000 words in 30 days makes November just a little crazy).

Greg Anderson

Greg graduated from Brown in May 2010 with Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies with honors. He scored a 2260 on the SAT, and he also tied his high school’s AP record with eight 5′s (U.S. History, European History, Statistics, Calculus BC, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, U.S. Government, and Biology). At Brown, he was a teaching assistant in Urban Studies and Environmental Studies, and he tutored students in economics and political science.

Adam Henderson

Adam is a sophomore at Brown University concentrating in Neuroscience. He currently teaches high school students about the environment in Providence at the MET school, through the community service center at Brown. He scored a 2350 on the SAT (800 Writing, 780 Reading, 770 Math) as well as a 5 on the AP Bio, Chem, Calc (AB), English Language, and U.S. History exams.

Jennifer Lee

Jennifer is a current sophomore at Brown University, where she studies Human Biology. After graduation, she plans to stay in lovely Providence another four years, to attend med school at Brown. In high school, she scored 2360 on the SAT (800 Reading, 780 Math, 780 Writing), as well as 800 on SATII Biology, 790 on SATII Math Level II, and 800 on SATII Chemistry. She also earned 5′s on the AP Statistics, Biology, US History, Psychology, BC Calculus, English Language, and Spanish Language exams.

In her time off, Jennifer enjoys pestering friends, watching cheesy movies, hanging out with her baby sisters, and traveling.

Nicole Parrish

Nicole is a junior at Brown University concentrating in Development Studies and Slavic Studies with a focus on Russian language. Originally from San Jose, Costa Rica, language, reading, and writing have always been her passion. Alongside achieving perfect marks in the reading & writing portions of the SAT, ACT, and scoring 5s in AP English Literature, and Language, she has also been published in literary and international publications.

CeCe Keefe

CeCe is a recent graduate from Harvard, where she majored in the History of Art and Architecture. After graduation, she worked at a law firm for a couple years and, in doing so, thankfully discovered her distaste for the field. She now lives in Boston, where she spends most of her time taking premed classes and working in a lab with rats (though she vastly prefers tutoring). She specializes in SAT, writing and Spanish tutoring.

Rachel Bliss

Rachel Bliss is currently a senior at Wheaton College (MA). Majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, she is looking to one day teach the subject she’s pursued. Actively on the Dean’s List and working under the head of the English Department in college, in high school she took AP English and European History. She also scored highly in English on the SAT.

When not in class, working or happily reading tomes, Rachel spends her spare time writing, studying a wide field of subjects and indulging her coffee habit. In the past, she attended writing conferences (with full tuition) and ran a writer’s club.
